Unknown code- PO61
Was messin around in some deep thick heavy clay last weekend, really bogged the truck down bounced off rev limiter- it threw a code- po61- when it did this it was running extremly rich- would hardly build any power and was burning a lot of excess fuel- however I wanted to get out of the hole before I investigated.
After I got out of the mud hole- I checked for the code- cleared it and the truck returned back to normal- except for actually it didn't. It seems to be running MUCH MUCH better after this occured- my truck is approaching 50,000 miles- what could possibly happen that it would all the sudden run better after throwing a code that my edge box does not recognize and that I can not locate on google.
Ever since this happened my truck has felt more powerfull- and has increased city milage by 2 mpg and highway by 4......
I drove the same trip that I make monthy and I ALWAYS get 15-16 MPG- However I made the trip last monday after throwing this code... here is the result
How can this be?
It certainly doesn't make any sense to me.....
Anyway here are a few pics from the trip..

I think the P0060 codes are the heated O2 sensors. Maybe you cleared some kind of carbon buildup.
Do you mind doing it to mine? I'd love a 4MPG boost, haha.

Thanks for the replys...
It may have been a P0061 code: I'm fairly confident the edge box only had P061 but it's hard to say, I knew that the codes are sopposed to be 5 digits- but the fact that the edge box said it was a "unknown code" had me curious because any other time it has thrown a code the edge has given me a description such as "bank 2 ox sensor open"
The fact that it's been running better since and still is leaves me to beleive that it was a P0061 and that I had some debri in one of the front cats that must of cleared out when the engine was bounced off the rev limiter under load.
No harm- no foul' I guess; but I was just kinda curious to if there actually was a unpublished P061 code that say maybe only ford techs would know- like a engine over-load code or something to that effect.

It came on and stayed on untill I cleared the code. It did not go off with key off, and while the light was on the truck was burning extremely rich to the point where it smelled like I had spilled gas in the cab.
