I've got a 2005 FX4 and 2.5" HBS level was too much, ended up changing my blocks in the rear to 3" from the factory 1.5". My only complaint with the 2.5" is the rubbing on the coil's from the upper control arm.... not sure if I'm worried about it yet but it's something I'm watching. Others have commented on it and it doesn't sound like it's created other issues.

False. I'm going to go ahead and say that it is highly unlikely that you improved the ride over stock setup with a leveling kit.

I had a 3" on my 08 and you are correct, at least in my case. It hurt the ride. Certainly never made it better

In this case your both wrong, cause it dose ride better than stock but I would only know that. But this is with new struts in the front and shocks in the back.

Holy hell. New shocks front and rear might have made you think your ride was better, but changing your geometry of your front end definitely "dose n't" make your ride any better.

PowerRanger, I fully agree with you on the fact that changing your geometry doesn't make your ride better, regardless of level or adjustable shocks. Absolutely it's going to make it worse in some form or another and help accelerate wear on front-end components (a risk I've decided to take).

In the difference between level 2" vs adjusting bilstien to 2", with adjusting you're not only lifting the truck but tightening the coil to achieve that lift. So in that case, I would say it'll be a stiffer ride than a comparable 2" level instead. I do the same thing on my ATV, I had a 2" lift and it was harder on components (balljoints, etc) so I took it out and I went to a spring spacer instead. I don't get the same lift (I didn't need that much anyways), but it's one difference of a ride!

What I can't state is I haven't tried the bilstien level vs my level kit so I can't say "how much" stiffer one is over the other. Maybe someone here has tried both options?

With what with Willy07 wrote, my ride has improved because I went from stock FX4 shocks with 170,000km on them to brand new bilstiens. So it's not a fair comparison (in my case) for me to say that my ride is far better due to the level, it could be due to having shocks that work now
