the truth about throttle body spacers
I know this subject has been beat to death again and again so please bear with me. I want to know the truth not opinions I've heard some can give you 1-6hp dyno tested. Now before y'all hate on it I've also heard that they can cause you to lose power. I happen to have a spacer from specture not sure how it's spelled haha I got it 2 years ago in a package deal with my CAI. Never installed it. Another thing I've read is that to get any benefit from them you have to get the tune written to accommodate the extra air. Has anyone put one on their truck and will it hurt if I put this one on mine? I have an 08 4.6 with custom tunes (PHP)AEM CAI and an aero turbine resonator in place of the muffler.

It makes a whistle at certain RPMs. You won't notice any seat of the pants improvement other than in your mind, but sometimes that's enough.

Have you ever installed one? If so did you do a before and after dyno? I read a tundra forum and theirs produced 6rwhp but they said the engine was a little cooler during the second run. I'd really like to see a dyno from an end user not the manufacturer.

6hp gain or lose on a dyno isn't even something measurable. A gust of cool wind could cause a 6hp swing on a dyno. Many many things could account for 6hp. The general census over the last 15yrs I have been a member of F150 forum boards is that its is a $100 paper weight. If anything people drill and tap them to use as a nitrous/methanol injection point.

You are more likely to see an increase from the spacer than from the CAI.
In theory if it increases airflow you would not need a tune as the amount of air entering the engine is measured and used in the calculation for fuel. A tune could make better use of increased airflow but would not be necessary.

I might just do that just to see what it does. I also plan on doing headers and dual exhaust with an x pipe in Feb. Or march I'll mention the spacer when I get the tunes written for the duals and headers
