Default Truck won't accelerate past 3000rpm

So today while driving home from a friends house i pulled out onto a main road on a large incline. Me being the driver i am changed lanes to pass a slow driver and my truck would not accelerate past 3000rpms even with the pedal floored.
I limped over the hill and made it to the stop light and it drove fine the rest of the way home on flat ground. I have also noticed lately on start up a slight noise from the motor that lasts about 2 seconds sounds like something rattles.

I also recently had starting issues but i have not had problems in a couple weeks. Im not sure if any on they are connected to each other but i would love to be able to drive with no issues.
NO CODES
Plugs, fuel filter, air filter and oil changed in last 6,000 miles

any help is appreciated.
This is my daily driver and my family is already out of one car at the moment and we dont need a second!

Can you replicate the problem?

I'm not sure what exactly is wrong but since you haven't got much of a response Ill throw this out there.

If you can replicate the problem I would look around for a good shop and have them hook it up to a computer or data log what is going on with the fuel and spark while driving and with the truck acting up. It might cost you 50 bucks but would be a good way to find out.

Does the motor seem to be healthy when going up to 3K then just doesn't rev anymore? Any transmission problems?

The ticking at first start up doesn't seem to be your issue here, that is a common tick that is associated to lack of oil pressure to your tensions at start up. Once they build pressure they normally stop ticking.

Default Truck won't accelerate past 3000rpm

I tried to recreate the problem last night and couldn't make it happen.
I have no know teams problems. It's has 64,000 miles on it.

Motor seems healthy. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.
Just kinda worried something more is about to happen with my truck. I just invested $1000 in tires.

Everything is up to date with maintenance.

im hoping im just being paranoid but it seemed like the trans was shifting funny on the way home. Seemed to be a little more harsh and i could feel it shift harder than normal.
Im going to have someone else drive it tonight to see if its just me.

Any ideas ?

I have the 6 cylinder 10 speed 360 HP ecoboost, 2017 Lariate

When I gun the engine, it will go up to 4500-5000 rpm until it reaches 4th gear, then it drops off like I just hit the breaks. I can continue to accelerate but in no gear above 3rd can I get above 3000 rpm! I had my local mechanic do the diagnostics and he said the only thing he found was "U" codes which indicate a problem with the computer system communications with the engine. He said this could be the problem but it might be costly to solve. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

This is 04-08 forum/section. You’ll be more likely to get help when posting to your year/gen’s section. Suggest posting/listing all of the actual codes and their definitions when you do.
