Default I messed up...

i cut the factory intake on my 07 f150 (with the v6). my dad saw it and freaked out (twice). said i can't buy anything else for my truck till i get the air intake back on there.... only problem is dealership says they want $250 and im broke as a joke. i have been looking for a long time trying to find it but i guess im a moron and i need someone to help me locate it. i don't have two hundred fifty dollars and i would really like to spend some amount of dollars less than that. if anyone can help i would REALLY appreciate it

thanks

On Monday call or go by the local Ford dealer and get them to tell you what years will work. I think you will find 04-07's are all the same part number. Then call the junk yards, most have computer part finders now and they will be able to help you out. What the heck was you trying to saw off?

A local salvage yard near me has a computer that they use to give you a printout of what years will match a certain part. They charge $1 to run it. They are also a "self-serve" salvage yard, you pull your own part(s). They are much cheaper than other yards that pull their own.

Or, you can try eBay as HarmsWay has suggested. You may be able to find the OEM part too and I'm sure it will be cheaper than the stealership!

Dude if you figured out how to cut an intake and pick up an extra 100 miles per tank Ford will hire you! Please post those pictures. I was thinking you cut the intake by mistake/accident.

I think he just did the common mod of cutting the plastic around the filter to expose more of the filter...

Aftermarket parts DO NOT automatically void a warranty! Tell your dad to look up the Magnusion Moss Act and read it. Basically the dealership cannot void your warranty simply because you have aftermarket parts on your truck. They have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which you are seeking warranty coverage for. For example, if you replaced your factory intake with an aftermarket CAI and your transmission went bad, I think the dealership would have a difficult time linking your CAI to your transmission issues and would be required to honor your warranty.

Oh yeah, check the junkyards out.
