Default Truck not starting right.

So the last couple days my truck hasnt started the same as it should. It is as if the battery is dead but starts after holding the key on until it starts. Could this be the battery going bad. gauges say the battery is at 14 volts with edge. or could there be something else to look at? Thanks

i might try that. i charged it today and then loses power so might get new battery unless something i have is draining battery like the edge.

before i got my battery replaced i was told something was draining my battery so thats a possibility, but usually once it drains your battery you might just need a new on

start up your truck, pop the hood. take the negative cable off the battery, if the truck keeps running then your alternator is good, if it dies then you need an alternator

good luck man, let me know the results

About 75% of the results of searching Google on "P0622" point to the alternator as being faulty.

I was thinking that maybe the edge was draining the battery. It is charged and right now it seems to be starting fine seems to take maybe an extra second now than it did a week ago so if it is dead later after i plugged the edge back in I will know if the edge drained the battery.

When you're alternator goes bad, it can stop charging your battery, so each time you run the truck, you have less and less of a charge.

Run to autozone (or similiar) and have them hook up the truck to their diagnostic machine. They should be able to tell you if it's the alternator or the battery.

did you try starting up your truck and taking off the negative battery cable from the post? if it keeps running your alternator is good if it dies you need an alternator

thats the best way to see if your alternator is bad

Smile most likely a bad alternator

Like others said, it is most likely your alternator is due for replacing.
P0622 can mean on of the following:

-generator drive mechanism fault (most likely what is wrong)
-damaged generator or regulator assembly
-fault in the wiring that connects alternator to battery and ground locations (a short or an open circuit to Power or Ground)
-damaged PCM
-battery-sense circuit open (I'm not sure what or where this circuit is)

You might want to trace where the alternator is grounded to and unbolt it from the chassis and clean any corrosion off, but it will probably be just fine and it's just that your alternator drive has crapped out.
