Default Transmition dip stick help

Having problems with my transmition leaking from where the dip stick tube enters the transmition. Had it replaced at a garage and they had to bend the new one when installing it to get it in but it was still leaking so I took the truck to a transmition shop to replace it again. After him fighting with it for 6 hours he figured out the reason the stick tube will not fit is because the truck has had a lift kit put in it . So now he is telling me I am probably going to need some sort of 2 piece or a special tube to fit. Any idea where I can get a tube that will fit ?

Hmm can you think of any reason they can't get the dip stick to fit ? It is a ford part but 2 different shops now and totall of $400 labor and still no dipstick. They say there is just no room to fit it in place

Unless you had a body lift, nothing should have changed. You don't need to bend them for install, but it is a huge PITA!!! You need to twist and maneuver them just right. Make sure you use a new o-ring on the tube. Mine didn't come with one and I re-used the old one...and it leaked. I finally got around to replacing the o-ring, and just pulling it up enough to do that wasn't fun either, but again do-able.

When installing the tube did you go from the top down or from under the truck up ?

Remove the passenger side wheel well liner and you will have full access to the tranny dip stick.. you should have a 4R75E tranny in your FX4
