Transmission Trouble can you find out the problem?
I have a 2005 f150 with the 5.4 motor. It has a 6'' lift and 35s. The truck shifts fine as long as I don't push the gas half thortle or more if I do it will down shift but will not up shift again and just bogs down but as soon as i let of the gas a little bit it will shift again. The transmision in this truck has been rebuilt once before I got it.
If you unplug the mass air flow sensor it shifts good even if you hold the gas to the floor its just slow as a dog. So i changed the maf thinking it was that but it did not fix the problem. I also changed the throttle postion sensor hoping that was the problem but that was not either. I know its not in the tranny its definantly something electrical. Also when the scanner is hooked up you can shift gears manualy with the scanner and it shifts good. So lets hear it would could be the problem??? Also the truck has 80,000 miles.

Those tires are too big for the tranny. You will need to change the rear end gearing, or suffer transmission failures soon.Many have had total transmission failures when installing 35's. Do a search and you'll see some posts on this subject.
These automatics were not designed to handle such a tall tire. Either a heavy duty transmission will be needed, or change the rear end gearing.

i have a 2003 f150 screw with 6in lift and 37in bfgs and 3.73 rear end and i have no problems with shifting downshifting etc. just hit 70k miles yesterday. yes try to find out your rear end but that shouldnt make it not able to down shift

I would have to say it's your gas! Try using diesel!!! Haha jk. But seriously changing your gears sure wouldn't hurt anything. I know you already said you didn't need to but I'm just trying to help and can understand your frustration of hearing people say the same crap over and over
