Default Transmission mystery part

I had to replace the snap ring on my overdrive servo. I found this part in the bottom of my pan. Anyone know what it is?

That's just a plug from the factory, when they put filter and pan on they drop it in the pan. It means your pan has never been off. Just toss it and replace filter while you're in there.
I just replaced my filter and upgraded to pan with drain plug. There was one in my pan too.

It plugs the dipstick hole and gets punched into the pan when the dipstick tube is inserted during assembly.

That's why I only work on my vehicles when my wife is at work.
