04 Power Side Mirrors and Driver Seating
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post. I bought an 04' F150 Lariat two weeks ago and love it. I love this site as well. I read that this was a common problem so I went to the passenger side and found the tape on the wires that had corroded. I spliced them, had to put wire in to bridge the gap (16 Gauge). Still not working.
Any other ideas on where the issue may be?
Thanks,
KC

The power seat on the driver side does not work. Neither does the side mirrors.
Power on the passenger is fine.
I read on this forum somewhere that the wire (Orange with light green stripe) had a Y at the passenger side and they taped with some weird tape and the adhesive corroded the wires.
Found that, and it definitely looked bad. So spliced them and still no power.

If the wires were corroded (green), then most likey this circuit was drawing too much current, overloading the circuit, and the fuse did what it was intended to do: melted to open the circuit.
I'd cut back on thos corroded wires until you find clean copper, then solder, using some heat shrink tubing to seal. Using crimp type connections will not last long, and I'll hope you did not just twist the wires together and cover with electrical tape.
