My 08 5.4 has the flat band type. Maybe the cable one is for the 4r70? And the band is for the 4r75?

You can call your local dealer with the vin and see which one you should be using, too

This is a 2004 5.4 3v with the 4R75W. I had to put a tranny in another 2004 I had and found out early trucks in this generation had 4R75W, and later I'm thinking about 2006 they used 4R75E

I've had a 2006 that I swear had the flat band, and a 2004 that I can't remember such a small detail. But it sounds like I should have the cable. Thanks guys for the input. If I didn't sell my other so quick I'd just go look

I filled it after replacing the filter and cleaning the pan. But i noticed I have two different dipsticks. Does anyone know if your dipstick is the metal band style or the cable style. They are different lengths so I may be over filling my tranny. Thanks
hola I’m new in the forum , I just bought an 2004 f150 and I had same problem, I was looking at you’re pictures and noticed something would it be possible that the cable goes down dipper on the dipstick tube ?? 🤔
