This is a 2004 5.4 3v with the 4R75W. I had to put a tranny in another 2004 I had and found out early trucks in this generation had 4R75W, and later I'm thinking about 2006 they used 4R75E

I've had a 2006 that I swear had the flat band, and a 2004 that I can't remember such a small detail. But it sounds like I should have the cable. Thanks guys for the input. If I didn't sell my other so quick I'd just go look

I have a 2004 supercrew I'm piecing back together, I bought it with the motor already out of it. My tranny is leaking fluid, and I'm seeing that could be because maybe it's overfilled.
I filled it after replacing the filter and cleaning the pan. But i noticed I have two different dipsticks. Does anyone know if your dipstick is the metal band style or the cable style. They are different lengths so I may be over filling my tranny. Thanks
