Trans valve body question
Well my overdrive just stopped working and from reading here it sounds like the snap ring is busted.
It seems that I need to take apart the valve body.
My question is can you reuse the valve body gaskets?

^^^^ Yes get new gaskets, do a thorough inspection of that metal plate to make sure there is no stress cracking around the overdrive servo and get all the broken pieces of the clip out of the valve body (I had some lodged down into the plungers) or you will be taking back apart again,

I wish that was my problem, but after some further testing the OD seems to be working because I have engine braking when in L2 and it will not shift to 3rd gear when in D with OD on or off.
Looks like a rebuild is in my future unless the 2-3 accumulator snap ring broke or the SS2 solenoid is bad and is not allowing the pressure to the direct clutch

Over Drive on 2004 F-150
I had my OD start to chatter and would vibrate when engaging. I told a friend of mine what was happening, he looked up a site with Trans-go, and they had the same problem on that same transmission. They had a kit that fixed the OD problem. I did have to take out the valve body and do some drilling and replacing springs and valves, all came in the kit with easy instructions. Fixed the problem. The site gave a file of problems that this and other transmissions had and what kit was installed to fix the problem. Still going after a year, the kit was about 40 dollars and was well worth it.
