We work on all makes in our shop and I can tell you you will do no better with a GM truck, we build more 4L60E's than we do 4R70W's. And I am not trying to put down GM trucks because I drive a Ford I am making an observation based on experience, I spent 8 years working at a Chevrolet dealer before I went to work at an independant shop I know that contrary to what Howie might try to lead us to believe Chevrolet is not all that plus a piece of cake too.
i agree.

My transmission guy has been working on trannys for 34 years. His information is good. What is new to him may not be new to you, considering the length of his career and experience.

I spent eight years at the Chevrolet dealer but have a total of 26 years experience I am not new at this either. By the way I'm not trying to be a smart ***** I just hate to see someone get bad information.

I understand the frustration of those who have had tranny failures.

I'll guess that "transmission specialists" will/may say what ever it takes to get business these days. While I am in no way a "specialist" in any field, I do get several opinions on major work such as this. To date, my transmission has not failed. I have 85K on it, and it has been serviced regularly (a transmission flush at 75K), and several pan/filter changes).

I don't tow large trailers, as I have the 4.2 V6 and smaller of the two automatic transmissions.
