Tranny doesn't bog down on 4-3 shifts and the shifts seem quicker as well when shifting. Seems a lot smoother too.

Bigblue, can you direct me to the TSB for the trans update.

I drove a truck same year and engine and it was night and day the power was great so i used his truck as a measuring stick.Ford did a transmission reprogram on it and upgrade on the computer. I was so happy when i got it back finally it had power and shifted great clunk was gone,my question is did they upgrade the main computer or is there one for the tranny and one for all the rest. And they told me to teach my transmission how i drive for three hundred miles that it learns my driving habits,so should i be easy on it or just drive it how i do normally?

So baddad, did you just bring it to Ford and tell them to update the computer?
Is it an update the PCM only? Or is there a trans module as well?

I want to be as well informed as a I can when i bring it to them.
I bet it takes 11 sec to get to 60. I also noticed acceleration was really bad last weekend on the highway when I tried to speed up from 70 -80. Granted it was a little windy but it seemed really bad.

Well its been a few weeks and the upgrade and reprogram on the tranny worked awsome i notice it shifts alot quicker to match Rpms .It is like night and day better gas mileage thats forsure .My next add on is going to be a sprint booster for electronic throttle response makes it feel like your throttle has cable control like the old cars had and anyone can install it in less than ten min it clips on behind the gas peddle. It takes out that hesitation when you hit the gas.

The tsb is 6-19-3 and 6-19-4 Service calibration hesitation on acceleration and on downshift.

Got mine done today, more pep stock for sure! RPMs seem to stay lower when cruising and it shifts better.

You should take your truck to ford the upgrade for the computer and tranny is 100.00 to 140.00 but my personal experience is well worth the money i will still do cold air system , exhaust, and a electronic throttle response chip to make excelleration alot quicker before i look at a performance chip. The upgrade is well worth the money good luck its nice to have a positive result for once!
