No offense, but you bought some cheap-o's that snap on, didnt you? We are talking bout the Factory OEM Towing mirrors that you can get on the Towing Max Package on the new trucks, as well as the Super Duty Trucks.

As far as gas mileage loss goes, I think I did lose 1mpg, but I also installed these the same day I took my Evo off and am still on the factory tune (w/ 35's and my CAI and all my other stuff). I think thats where my loss can be attributed to, and not the Mirrors. However, I can hear the wind howl through the gap in between the 2 bars when I am at highway speeds (70+).

I know of the ones you are talking about that snap over the existing mirror. These slip over the entire mirror and are tightened near the door. They actually work very well and are easy on and off.

I bought a pair of these off craigs($15), I have yet to try them, I am glad to hear a good report. I would like the actual tow mirrors.

These might be inexpensive yet still very effective, but I think aesthetically they are . To each his own though, glad they are working for you guys!

I will not argue looks with you as I agree. I don't tow a large enough trailer enough to justify the cost of the others especially if the mileage drops with the larger towing mirrors that would be there all the time. etting them used for $15 was not much risk. I drive 80-100/ day geting to and from work.

I'm the only one of my friends that owns a truck, let along a truck w/ trailers. I'm either takin the 16' and moving someone, or the 20' and haulin a car (my uncle restores cars/trucks like most people change breaks). They are also very beneficial in daily driving. I have noticed that I dont even look into the regular mirror anymore, just the concave lower one. Like i said, each their own. If you're happy thats all that matters. hell, its still a ford!

totally agree. just like to get opinions and facts not "ads". I mean if I put an exhaust, air intake, bed cover and a programmer I should get about 24 mpg. Reality is itt not going to happen. The numbers are not there. I do like the looks of the mirrors. how far back did you need to go to get power for the signals?

Running the power for signals this weekend. Hectic week at work, project due, ppl leaving for vacation, and I'm in the process of packing up the apt and moving into my first home. I wish there were 33 hrs in a day!

How did this project go? On Friday we had some hail at my wife's parents house, and guess who lost a mirror? (If you said me, you are just half right! Wife's car lost the driver's side mirror too). So aside from a dimpled roof and hood... I need a replacement mirror, so why not just get the tow mirrors?

Hopping the insurance will just cut me a check for the damage, and let me fix it. Still an annoying hassle though.

I am wondering if the power folding will be easy to hook up. I already have heated mirrors. Which control handles the folding mirrors? Is it the mirror adjust **** or something else?
