Default Tow Mirror Alignment Issue

Hi having some issues with a set of tow mirrors i bought a while back, when putting them on i found that where the a pillar meet the fender that, that area on the mirror pokes out and same with the top peak doesnt sit flush with the cab. tried taking the foam piece out of my factory mirrors to sit if that was the issue but nope. its like there is something on the mirror bracket that is interfering. Had this brand of tow mirrors before and no issues (Cam Clark) i believe is the manufacture.

definitely looks like something went wrong during manufacturing. I'm running these ones:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and they sit perfectly flush.

Going to try sanding the base down. Cause after comparing my stock mirrors to the tow mirrors under that foam peice there looks to be weight looking things around the triangle shape base that are on the outside. So thinking that's what's causing the gap issue
