Took Cats Out, Check Engine Light

Something
You can do any of these ideas, but the simple fact is is that your PCM will have your engine running in limp mode until it gets a reading from the o2 sensors. Buy the simulators, then the PCM will think all is OK and you will get full use out of your engine. Plus running in limp mode forever will probably damage your engine's internal components, or at least could foul the cylinder walls and your valves.

Like a few other posters mentioned, why would anybody take the cats or O2 sensors off of their exhaust? These are not the '70s when everybody just wanted to take the cat off. The ecm is in tune with these and makes automatic adjustments to the engine performance. Live and learn is correct! I just hope more owners read this and can save a few bucks by not cuting them out totally.

Here try this

I know I know it's prolly taboo and f150forum might get mad at me but, this mod may save you a few bucks seeing as how it should only cost you a few bucks to do.
All he used was 2 sets of 2 18mm Spark plug non-foulers (NF for short) Napa part # 730-2442 About $7 a pack.
He just drilled them out to a half inch and put two on each sensor which fools the computer just disconnect the battery so the computer reconfigures to the mod.
Personally I did the secondary cat delete and I'm running true duals 2.5inch pipes out the back with 4inch tips and it's overly nasty now so I need to x pipe and put some tone to it so I lose the highway drone while towing, so without cats all together I would assume would be insanely loud.
Oh and unless technology has changed recently I believe when you just ignore the check engine light, and drive when you WOT your truck you run it lean which is damaging to your motor so tape and ignoring it is a bad idea.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their advice and even criticism because it all actually helped me. Its been awhile since I posted but I have been keeping up with everyones comments. It was stupid and pointless to delete them all as I believe bucko was trying to say. I went ahead and got magnaflow cats and everything is back to normal. I added a superchips programmer for performance as well. O2 sensors are normal Now as well.
Thanks again guys

I cut mine out but they were stopped up!! I have a custom tune with HP tuners software the guy had me get a O2 bung put in before the muffler because he has a wide ban O2 censer so he could tune my Air/Fuel ratio!! N and now that I'm putting long tubes on and 3" to a 5X8 oval body 18" body length Magnaflow i will need to look at the Air/Fuel again!! With his software he turned the light off WHOOT!!
