Default Tonneau bed cover technology

Dear All,

Raining Season is Back and here in Florida Raining season means rain showers twice a day.

Do you guys have any Bed cover that you would recommend ?

I'm looking for something inexpensive, as I discarded the Cap because I cannot spend $900 on it.

And my truck has the plastic protection around the truck box just like in the picture. I think it protect the metal and I would like to avoid having sharp metal or pointing stuff there.

I cannot use a hard top because usually when going scuba dive, we have about 6 people and some get a short ride from the beach to the parking lot in the back of the truck.

Should I go Folding or Rolling ?

I saw some on e-bay for $200 and I'm wondering if they are okay ?

The idea is to block the view from people (security) and block the water from getting to it.

Would Velcro hold it ? ebay1 or ebay2 ebay3

It's okay for me to have buttons, velcro or anything that will hold for about 2-3 years.

Anyone that have been to the same situation recommends anything ?

1. is what you would want, they rollup and down, slick units, the aluminum piece on the end actually holds the tonneau down and the velco just makes the cover have tension.
2. is if you have the 08 with factory rails system
3. junk, the snaps will wear out in no time and leaves holes where the snaps once were, and the bows need to me moved manually and not build into the cover.

my father in law to be has the same looking cover, i believe his is the access brand. so #1 is what i would buy, i have the same thing but my lund. take a look at the truxedo ones on ebay, i have installed a couple of them and they are quite nice, a few bucks more than what you posted. but i don't see a brand name on the links you posted, weird.

I think the Truxedo rolls on velcro right. Do you know what the Ford Original Snapless tights on ? It would be nice if it had a magnetig strip just like the refrigerator :P

5L3Z-99501A42-A looks to be the part number for the Ford Roll up with Velcro. It's $400 that makes the Truxedo a great option.

the truxedo has velcro on the sides and then snaps in place at the rear...give your local dealer a call, i know the one here has some used ones/new takeoff's they sell for a fair price...

Default Tonneau Options

So it looks like the best options are:

snap , snapless or velcro.

Does anybody have a Truxedo or any with Velcro ?

snap/snapless are junk IMO, go with Velcro. my buddy has had his truxedo on his 04 crew cab since 05 and swapped it over to his 07 and it still works fine. the velcro holds up fine, i have had my tonneau up and down 500 times at least since i got mine and it's as good as new..
