Default Tires Squeak on turns

When making a right turn, I can hear my front tires squeak on the asphalt. It sounds almost like when they are in 4wd but it is in 2wd. Anyone know what it might be? I took a look underneath and it seems I have a small leak near the cv boot. It is throwing little drops of gray grease all over.

Are you sure the front IWE (hubs) are disengaged? Do your CV shafts turn when your driving? You may have a Vacuum leak in the IWE system.

Mine did the same when i put my lift kit on and didnt get an alignment, long term cost me 2 new tires. I think is the tire riding on the edge.

ca3sar, were the front tires wearing on the outsides? Mine is doing the same thing, maybe its time for another alignment.

lol cv shafts always turn when you're driving. hence cv means constant velocity.

not true, 04+ have vacuum actuated hubs disconnect the front driveline when not in 4x4, the cv's should not be turning when not in 4x4 and if they are it usually means the IWE solenoid (the solenoid that engages/ disengages the hubs) is bad.

CV does mean constant velocity, but it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not they turn when you're in 2wd (they should not if the system is working correctly). They are just called CV shafts because they have CV joints in them. CV joints are just a much better alternative to standard u-joints in this application. Here's a description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constant-velocity_joint
