Default Tires in regard to stock rims

Hey guys. Quick question... Couldnt find the answer in other posts. I have a 2007 f150 xlt 4wd with stock 17 inch rims. The width is 7.5 inches. Can I put 35x12.5r17 BF Goodrich km2s on these rims. According to tirerack specs, the rim width should be 8.5-11 inches. Your help would be appreciated. Just need to know if these can be mounted on the stock 17 inch rims.

You could but I wouldnt. If you want to run that size tire id go to an aftermarket wheel thats wider. You technically could but its going to be very stretched and not wear to great but people have done it before. At a minimum id run an 8 inch wide wheel which to me doesnt stick out enough on the F150's. On my ranger I ran 12.5 wide on an 8inch wide wheel but I feel like for the F150's and being a bigger truck, it needs an even wider wheel than 8inches wide but acourse thats just my opinion and what I like.

But back to your question, if you want to run that tire id buy different wheels that are wider, but you COULD GET BY on your stock wheels, but as stated they wont wear perfect and honestly your just losing alot of tire contact with the ground and wasting money buying the wider tire and not being able to fully use it all. Its just not the proper way to do it but it wouldnt be to big of a deal.

Default Thank you!

What size would you recommend as the largest for these tires on the stock rims? I'm not doing it for the look, just for a great set of tires I can use off-road. I would love the 35s but I don't have the extra cash for rims and I don't know what I could get if I were to sell the stock rims. I am thinking 285/70R17 They come out to be 33 inches and the recommended width is 7.5-9 inches. Thanks for your help!

Default New idea...

So I decided to check out some aftermarket wheels to see my options. I used the 2004-2008 tire fitment guide for reference. Here is what I have come up with.

Eagle Alloy Rims with the following specs:
18" diameter
9" Width
5" Backspacing
6x135mm Bolt Circle

BF Goodrich KM2 Tires
35x12.5R18

I have just a 3 inch leveling kit on my truck. I'm not a big fan of lifting because of the strain and it can result in lines being t0o taught. Would this be an option? I don't think there would be any rubbing. Thanks so much for your help!

Youre doing more with that level than you would an actual lift. And if youre referring to brake lines, its 30 bucks. Big deal.

I just don't like the idea of lifting, that's all. I'm not one of these guys that wants a truck I can barely climb into or something higher for the look. Just enough to fit an aggressive beefy tire that I can drive to get to my hunting spot. That's beside the point thought. Just need to know about the wheel/tire thing.

Honestly. A 4" isnt tall. And you can run a nice 33" tire on it. Plus it puts all of your suspension back into stock parameters

Lifts are more expensive. Plus you can run 33s stock on my truck without anything.

Anthony, maybe you will find the info in this link, top of the 04-08 forum;

https://www.f150forum.com/f4/tire-wh...04-08-a-24510/

I know what you mean about larger than factory tires, that is all you asked for and I don't understand how new rims and lifts came about
Oh well.......
