Tire and wheel fitment guide for 04-08

I'm definitely a big truck guy. Everything I've ever had has been lifted and 4x4 but in my opinion if it's 2wd they can look great with the back lowered to match the front. That's just my .02. People have different opinions but that's mine.

leveling
Thanks for the input guys. Keep the thoughts coming! I can appreciate both looks, Lowering looks good on trucks and I also like lifted trucks.
I think the lowering will help the handling, and keep me from going with bigger tires in the future. And I use it to carry my motorcycles, so lower is easier to load. But.. I do like the look and feel of lifted trucks. I have some time, until I level it. So I will keep looking at pics, and doing research on leveling kits.

Looking at putting some 20s or 22 on a 08 FX2 S.Crew. Would i run into a problem with a 22x9.5 wide wheel or should i stick with a 9 wheel.
what kind of offset/backspacing do i need to look for to have as little of the wheel sticking out. i don't mind having to add some lo pro bushwackers but i need something i can still drive in ATL
stock height now i may lower it later but i doubt I'll lift a 2WD. lookin at the Wilwood big brake kit down the line which is why i was looking at 22's

looking at these for 20 or 22x9

Those rims look nice, I think in Black would look good. IMO, I don't see why the 22's wouldn't fit. But that is pure speculation on my part. The stock fx4 20's bolt on fine no problem, but I am not sure of rim width.
What engine, gearing do you have? The 275/55's(31.9") I put on on my 2wd, 4.6. Made the truck slower, and use more gas. But they looked awesome! I still switched back to the 17" though. The power drop, and mileage was killing me.

Its a 4.6 FX2, not sure about the gearing but it came from the factory with 20s.

I'm wondering if anyone can help out wiht this. I have an 04 fx4 with the 2.5" hbs leveling kit wanting to run 17x9 wheels offset -12 backspace 4.5" on a 315/70R17 tire. Anyone know if that will rub? If so will minor trimming do? Also how much will this poke my tire outside of the fender? I read the first post and all looks well just thought I would double check and really curious about how far the tire will stick out. Thanks for any help.
where did you have to trim to make that fit? what did you use to do it?
thanks
