Honestly, go with te 295s you'll regret not going bigger once you've got the smaller one on. It's a 34.3" tire 11" wide. After having em for a while i feel like if my tires were any smaller they'd look out of place on te rig now. You'll love em I Guarantee it. Haha

Yeah, I'm going 295's for sure. I'm committed to the wheels unless I want to pay return shipping. So looks like its the 18x9 with -12 offset. I'm fine trimming some plastic but is there any metal that I will need to trim?

With a -12 offset it is possible. My tire is a little bigger tho so you might be safe. If you do I suggest going to Lowe's and picking up an hand held grinder. I got a Skil branded one for $30. Hit the bare metal with some black spray paint or something to prevent rust. You won't regret the look it may just be a small pita to get everything the way you want.

Every once and a great while you might rub this piece. Very rarely tho.

I will find this out soon enough tomorrow when the wheels and tires go on, but what metal area will likely need to be trimmed?

I doubt you will have to trim any metal since your tire size is smaller than what I am running. But to answer the question the metal is behind the plastic.

Default 2005 fx4

I'm sure this exact question is somewhere on this thread, but I can't find it. I have a leveled 2005 screw fx4 with stock 18" rims. What metric size tires can I put on my truck? And as it seems 18" rims are rare, does anyone have any brand recommendations?
Thanks guys

If your truck is leveled 2.5" then you can fit up to a 35x12.50 tire on. There are multiple combinations of what will fit and look good so you should google "tire size calculator" common sizes are 295/70/18, 285/70/18, etc etc... This is also covered in the very first post of this thread. Tire brands I know a lot of people put on Nitto brand and there are a few others that make for an 18. I purchased retread tires from treadwright.com and love them and the price.

I can tell you boys now that if your thinking of running the 295/60r20 trail grapplers on stock 20s. Its gonna rub. After all the searching and reading i feel deflated! I'm rubbing at full lock left and right and its worse in reverse. It's all over the front and back of the UCA and a little on the sway bar. I've got some 1 1/2" wheel adapters on the way and I'm sure ill have to trim some plastic when I put those on which I can deal with. It's not a daily driver more like a glorified hunting truck during duck season so im not concerned about the stress on the suspension and bearings. Just a little FYI if your thinking about that size.
