Hate to be a pain, but I'm looking for some assistance. The wheels I'm looking at are on sale until tomorrow, Black Friday, for $40 off each wheel and would like to purchase prior to. Also the tires are on sale too through the weekend so I would also like to be able to purchase them as well.

Thanks again.

I am also installing new struts up front and new shocks in the rear. I'm sticking with 17's but upgrading to some nice new ones.

Should I go with:
17x8 with 25 offset and 5.5 backspacing
or
17x9 with 25 offset and 6.0 backspacing

I'm looking at either 285/70/17 or 305/65/17 (BFG A/T)

What do you all think is the best combo? Will I experience any rubbing with either set of wheels/tires? I do not mind if the tires stick out of the wheel wells I just don't want any rubbing and I do not want to do any trimming.

Thanks in advance.

The 17x9 will give an extra 1/2" of tire inside the fender, neither should be a problem with the tires you want. It may be an issue if you ever go to a 315 (12.5") wide tire though.
If that's a possibility, stick with the 17x8

Thanks for the reply cowboy. I had already ordered the 17x9's by the time you replied bc I was considering going with the 315's and wanted the extra rim width for the wider tires. So now I ordered 17x8's as well. Looks like I'll be selling off a set off wheels.

Now I'm toying with the 305x65 or the 315x70. I'm installing a set of the Rancho Quick Lift (2.5") in the front and 1" blocks in the back. I've been seeing elsewhere on the interweb that I should stick with no larger than a 33" tire. I really would like to order the tires on Monday and I can't decide what to do. The 305/65 = 32.6x12 and the 315/70 = 34.4x12.4. I would like to go with the 315 but don't want to have to trim anything or add spacers. Oh what a conundrum.

You'll be able to run the 305 as stock, but I know that the 315 will rub. I put 33x12.5x17 on my dads FX4 and he rubbed on the front valance on tight corners and in reverse. Not sure of the width of those rims though.

Thanks again cowboy. Any chance you were able to find out the width (and offset) of your dads wheels? I'm really wanting to go with the 315's. My new wheels are arriving on Wednesday and I'm looking forward to putting them on the truck with some nice new rubbers on them.

I'm looking to add a 2 1/2 leveling kit to my 07 FX4. What's the largest tire I can fit with a 20" rim?

295/60/20 would fit perfect, but you can squeeze 35/12.50/20 in there with some trimming .. be prepared for some power loss too.

I appreciate your assistance. Is it possible to add the leveling kit to the front and an extra leaf to the rear? If so, what's your opinion on that.
Also I'm looking for an aggressive looking tire that still does well in snow and wet conditions.
