yes you can i would have run that size but i already had 287/70/17's to put on my wheels i did put a set of 35X12.50X17 on the stock wheels to try it out and yes they fit they wouldnt have rubbed on my truck but the front bumper got pushed in a bit by the previous owner so they hit the valance a little so no stock wheels they wont, my 285/70/17's rub the valance because my new wheels stick out just far enough to make it touch

Check my previous post.
I put on the same size tires and no rubbing at all.
My tires were 315/70/17 but actual measurements are 34.5x12

Just got a 2008 FX4 and looking to put some rims/tires on it. Thinking about a 20x9 or 18x9 rim. Want to run a 33" tire (295/55/20, 305/55/20, or 33x12.50 either in 18" or 20". I'm looking for offset info. I don't want the rims to stick out to much. What offset do I need to look at? I've seen +18, +10 and 0 offset on most rims. Will be stock height for now but might do a 2" level down the road.

Thanks

You will want a level if you are trying to push the tires out of the fender well. I have a 3" lift on my 4x4 with -12 offset rims and I can only fit a 275/70/18 (33.2x10.82x18) and that rubbed at first very slightly.

I'm not looking for the "tire sticking out" look but if that's the way it needs to be because of the rims then its cool. Just as long as its not sticking out to far. So looks like a need a level. So what off set should I be looking for.

I'm sorry man I read your last post wrong I thought you said you did want your rims to stick out. If you don't want them to stick out and you try to keep them tucked in as much as possible then you will be fine without a level. A +18mm offset or higher would be best to keep you from rubbing and not needing a level.
