Get the ratcheting metal 2v tensioners, they don't have seals to leak.
That is the best possible advice. Pulled the trigger on Melling all metal ratcheting 2v tensioners.

Do I need the wedge tool to use between the chains if I get the crankshaft holding tool?

I am going with the Ford Racing oil pump that comes with pickup. Claims to be both high volume and high pressure to help solve 3v issues.

ITEMS ORDERED FROM FREEDOM RACING:
M-6600-F46 5.4L 4.6L 3V High-Pressure High-Volume Oil Pump (Upgrade to 9L3Z-6600-A 9L3Z6600A)

3R2Z-6E078-AA Lower Engine Oil Pan Gasket Set (#3R2Z-6E078-AA). Includes front crank seal, timing cover gaskets, etc

6.8L 5.4L 4.6L Timing Chain Tensioner (Right) AM-F6AZ-6L266-DA (#AM-F6AZ-6L266-DA) Metal 2V tensioner

6.8L 5.4L 4.6L Timing Chain Tensioner (Left) AM-F6AZ-6L266-CA (#AM-F6AZ-6L266-CA ) Metal 2V tensioner

303-448 Crankshaft Holding Tool (#AM-303-448)

6.8L 5.4L 4.6L 3V Cam Follower Rocker Arm (24 pack) 3L3Z-6564-BA

6.8L 5.4L 4.6L 3V Hydraulic Lash Adjusters (24 Pack) 5L1Z-6500-A

I already have Ford Phasers, chains, guides, phaser bolts, solenoids, water pump, belt tensioner assembly, serpentine belt, etc.

Default Best to set motor at timing points to remove cams

Put temporary marks on cam shaft for an easy guide for re installation .If you set it at timing points it is a lot easier to put it back . I would do it with timing cover off . I'm not really fond of the wedge as you can't see all the other parts and condition . It can be done ,pay attn to proper sequence of cam bolt removal a little at a time. Closely watch followers on installation.Reinstall and tighten bolts in sequence a little at a time . Clean wells real well. Mark all cam parts as they must go back exactly how they came out.

The crank tool i a little bit superfluous since new timing chains have black marks on it. just set the crank timing mark to 6 o'clock and follow the chain links.

Better tool is the phaser holder that bolts onto the head so you can torque your phaser bolts down. that was worth its weight in amphetamines.
