Can't hurt, when I have that much engine removed, I try to replace any hoses that look worn, fuel, coolant, etc. Those are cheap insurance. I had my truck at dealership in January and got it back with split fuel lines. It pays to keep some on hand and cut it as you need it.

now when i put it in reverse it shuts off... but could that be because of the missfire on cylinder 8

Wait...what? This morning you were asking about this and how you were contemplating doing this even up to almost 5:00 tonight. 2 hours later you are done? I'm confused.

He's had it for a few days but before it got put back together we cleaned down everything. Driver Side guide was broken in half. Passenger side guide was loose. But everything is replaced now.

lol i wish someone was fast enough to do a complete timing and components within 2 hours.. that person would make a crap load of money lol.

mech friend had it for about 2 weeks, but 4 of those days were spent in the er so out of the 13 days he had it, he only worked on it 9 days, that was only a few hours a day, but there was a lot to do, runs better but for the misfire right now.

I did a complete timing overhaul. The problem came with the guy who did it. A ford performance guy, all over the internet and on the speed channel, who left me with more codes than I delivered the truck to him with. When I questioned him about it he blamed it on 'sludge' in my engine, which I have never seen, and would have charged me even more. He blew the chance at doing a big job on my truck. I finally got my truck straightened out at more costs to me, but it seems to be running right now. He is supposed to have run a tune for me also, but that was also a scam as my mileage is no different than it was before. I may end up going to Forida to SCT's place and learning to run their tunes my self. After I had a good mechanic fix his mistakes, my truck is now running good. forget the lockouts. Replace the entire timing set for $579 EBAY and know everything is right.
