Default tick when warm at idle ?

i have a 04 f150 5.4 and at a warm idle it ticks but as soon as you give it gas it goes away and it doesnt tick when its cold. i was thinking it was the cam phasers but they were replaced under factory warrenty now the truck has 86,000km. what do you think does that sound like the phasers.

I hear the exact same tick in my truck but haven't looked into it and don't have a clue what it is. Mine only has 56K on it, if that matters. Does anybody have any info on this?

Alot of the ticking noise is just the injectors, ford fuel injectors make alot of noise. The fuel injectors on my old 03 cobra clicked like crazy, they were 39 lb injectors, dont now what size we have in our trucks.
Alot of times when you hear a ticking and have a dealership or mechanic look at it and he says its normal, its the injectors.

i have had that ticking sound myself...i also have an 04 fx4 5.4...i was concerned at first but then did further research on the sounds the engine makes...and it is totally normal..if you do searches on the internet you can actually pull up the training videos ford uses for the trucks and it goes thru the whole list of normal sounds the truck makes and what should and shouldnt be a concern...

There are also alot of stories about a 5.4 soundnig like a diesel and the dealer saying thats its normal, then the owner goes to another dealer and that dealer fixes the problem. To me any sound that the truck did not make when it was new is an abnormal sound.

My truck tick when it's warm or cold ! Now it is starting to lack power, and stop pulling! What could cause this and how much to repair?

I have what I describe as a ping when I brought it in to the dealer for it's first oil change (at 5,000 miles)I told them about it and said they didn't hear anything and the computer didn't show anything. They did admit to having a couple trucks with the same problem replaced cam phaser in one of them and did not fix they said they are waiting for Ford to come out with a fix,so until then I'll keep on B%!TCHING about it until they fix it really ticks me off
