New to the forum and I need help.I have an 06 with a 5.4 and occasionally it loses throttle response,truck is still running but only idles.Turn it off start it back and good to go again.Doesn't give a code and only happens every so often.I was told just to replace the throttle body,another said the throttle body motor.It also seems to lag just a bit when you take off,could be related but I don't know.Hope somebody else has had this issue so I know before I pop for a throttle body.

Test the throttle position sensor first.

 

Change your fuel filter.

 

There are updates to the throttle software. Many shoppes other than the dealer have access to this. Try calling around and find one. Had my truck software updated and problem gone. Make sure if you have a programmer to put the truck back in stock mode or you can run into problems with your tune.
