Default You can change the TPS but it didn't work for me

Mine just died going thru intersection while accelerating . Scared the hell out of me up in the mountains miles from home .
Well I changed TPS and cleaned throttle body every few weeks it would do it again . I forget the codes now but I finally bought a whole new upgraded oem throttle body . Around $200 bucks at that time ebay ,that solved it years ago ..
Anytime the PCM sees a difference between the foot pedal signal and the TPS position it shuts down . It drives the throttle motor electronics that decodes the pcm signal . My 05 year had a history of faulty TB, old ones started with a 3 the new ones are 8 ,printed right on throttle body . It comes complete with a new TPS .
The system is designed that way to keep it from sticking full throttle and running you into a wall or something .
I can't relate to this thump that he is reporting .

Default Thumping, poor shifting

The thumping and inconsistent shift is caused by ignition coils going south. My '08 was doing this exact same thing right, I replace all of the ignition coils and it ran like brand new, no thump, no inconsistent shift, amazing the difference it makes.

Yep, was going to say the same thing as the last two posts. Two different issues. The bumps are most likely from a bad COP (or more than one) and the hesitation is from the TPS/TB. I assume he got it fixed though as the OP is from 2010...

Default 2006 F150 4.6 constant reoccurring 2126 and tps.

I have had the same trouble for over a year now. I have had the TPS changed 3 times All to come back to the same error codes. The truck is running rough idling terribly and I’m at a lose here. Does anyone know what could be happening to a truck that has less than 100k on it!!! This truck has had the fuel system gone through the tps changed it’s been babied. I have no clue. Ford wants it for yet another day to charge me for more crap that it clearly doesn’t need. Anyone any help would be appreciated

I’ve been having issues with my 06 f150. It has the 4.6 also. I keep changing the TPS which sometimes works for a few months and some like this last time does nothing. I’m actually at the point where I’m ready to get rid of this truck with its constant issues. Ford wants way too much to diagnose it and my programmer only gives me the same error codes over and over 2126 is the latest of them. Can anyone tell me if this has happened to them after replacing the TPS 3 times in a year. Do I need one through ford bc I buy them from places like advanced auto and other big names auto stores. Any help would be greatly appreciated
