I actually have one installed and I like it. Noticed a little quicker throttle response and I get a cool whistle when the engine is running. I personally don't mind the whistle at all.

I bought my truck with it on there. So idk the difference. I was basically stating that everyone has a different opinion on them. I would do the intake first and tune it before you go with a tbs. if you have that then go a head and get one and make your own decision. A mechanic I know said they are good for usually about 4 hoarse power. Not much but some at least.

On an old rochester TBI system or a carb they were a good idea, they lengthened the intake slightly post-injection.

All a TBS accomplishes on a port injected engine is noise and looks. Makes a cool looking paperweight, but a touch pricey for that app.

I got one and i did notice a difference, i do like the whistle it gives off, i have had people ask if i had a turbo. Mine was $90 or so, not a huge investment but some guys don't like the whistle so they take them back off and sell them cheap. Some cai kits come with one so they are both installed at the same time saving a bit of time. Its not make it a rocket ship by any means
