Throttle Actuator System
I took a trip to Orlando and back today to help my brother move in to his new apartment for college. My truck ran perfect the whole way until about half hour from home on the way back. The maintenance light comes on out of no where along with the ABS and check engine light and my truck automatically lowers it RPMs to under 2000. I pull over and shut the truck off then turn it back on and everything goes back to normal. I jumped back on the highway and drove about 10 miles before the same thing happened. This time I pulled out my superchip and checked the codes. It said Throttle Actuator System - Forced Limited Power. I asked some people and I got alot of different answers and Im not entirely sure what could have caused this so I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out with a little knowledge. Im going to mess with it tom to see what I can do.

Im pretty sure it is not drive by wire. The whole thing is electrical which is not one of my specialties but if its a new throttle body I need then thats not a problem to change. Is that something that happens alot? I have never heard of this happening to anyone

So today I was just messing around to try to figure out what could be going on with my truck and I decided to unprogram my superchip and put it back to stock. I have put it on stock tune and so far it has had no problems. Im going to go drive it around more just to find out if that would be it. Does that make sense? Could the performance tune on the superchips flashpaq be messing with my ECU and forcing the truck to be at limited power?

mine threw a code but i figured it was because i kept tinkering wit all the custom settings on my Edge. so i went back to stock and it went away. that was about 2 months ago, but my truck just threw the code again. so ima do the same thing and see what it does.
