Yep bucko i paid, that's all i could do at the time. I prolly could have ordered a Recon and all that but i have to head to work tonight and i work offshore so the truck sits at the dock for 7 days unattended and i cant leave it there with water just pouring in w/e it rains. Plus it's been raining all week so i just wanted this prob fixed. Although i did get the other break light..they actually wanted to keep it, and the gasket came off in 2 places although resealing it would be pretty easy. But didnt check it first, so eh 117 and no leaks before i head to work is good for me i guess. Yeah they didnt want to cover the third nor headlights.. and the tech said he's had to replace quite afew already hence he knew what the prob was once i said water was coming into the cab right off the bat. Nice huh.

It's not a recall; it's a technical advisory. My dealership replaced it free though. I guess they labled it a "good faith" warrantee.

They get enough out of me with other parts sales, and the amount of vehicles I've bought from the dealer over the years.....

My old 93 ranger even did this, you'd think Ford would have figured somethin out by now. Anways on that truck I just ran a bead of silicone around the light and that solved the issue. I did some preventative maintenance on the F150 this time around with some weatherstripping:

I like the idea of using some "peel and stick" type seal, as most folks don't know how to use silicone. They put a bead on that's way too thick, then immediately bolt/screw the item down. Doing it this way makes the silicone act like epoxy; if you ever need to replace a burned out bulb, you end up with the possibility of breaking the assembly trying to pry it apart. You have to follow the directions on the tube of silicone; allow it to "set" before you re-assemble. Then it does not "epoxy" the two surfaces together.
