Default Third Brake Light Leaking?

Hey guys has anyone had any leaks coming from right above the back glass? Just started getting leaks from that area and called the dealership i was told they ran into this prob a few times and it's because the waters getting past the 3rd brake light and coming into the cab wtf? So was told they would check it out and reseal it or replace it Monday.

So thats 2 dropped windows, 1 pulley and belt changed and now a leaking 3rd brake light. lol Hopefully we're done with the probs for now... although i did also manage to be an idiot and rub one of my black KMC slides against a curb yesterday.. great $625 mistake.

Yes, mine leaked about 3 mos after I bought it. the dealer replaced the whole lamp assy and no problems since then. that was over 3yrs ago.

i have the same problem and my 3rd brake light is actually not working probably due to the water inside it. i didn't even know there was a recall. if my truck is not currently under warranty anymore does it matter? thanks

Well brought the truck in for the Third, ended up getting replaced for a new one for $117. Also had them check out the headlights i've got spiderweb sized cracks all inside the headlights, thought it was my tint on em but was the headlights themselves. Anyways they said ''yeah lights are cracking so.. it'll be 245 apiece for some new ones''Yeah i passed on that and just will order a set of Harley Editions and have them sent to AAC for the Red Demon eye halo kit to get installed then retint em. Man i've got spare everything for this truck now. F'in money pit.

O attached a pic. Any suggestions on what to do next guys?

Hey Atom got an opinion on the truck? Not your style or what?

Thanks man it's a work in progress, just need to get my subwoofer probs down, then gonna tackle getting the bedcover to open vertically with a set of actuators, and shave that ARE handle off for a cleaner look. Do still need a hood though, just dont know what to style to go with. But headlight probs thanks to ford popped up. So one thing at a time. Works out though cause AAC has a week and half turn around time on their Halos.

A search here would have shown you that this is a common problem.

You paid for the third brake light? There's a Ford paper that was written about the poor seal on the first design; the new assembly has the updated seal. You should not have had to pay for that.

And you cannot just buy the seal; it's only available as a complete assembly. If you did pay it, you could have saved a bunch by buying an LED unit, and had plenty of money left over for other upgrades.
