Default Thinking bout some Wheel Adapters

Been looking for some wheels and tires and i see a ton of six lug chey wheels for sale for good prices just wonder if it would be worth it to get some wheel adapters and plus just had a baby so money is tight just seeing what yall think bout them good bad and other

Default Chevy rims

OK, here's the old-guy talk first: if money is that tight then you have no right to even consider new rims with a new baby.
Anyone that knows me knows I think wheel adapters are a bad move.
Having said that, if you're really into Chevy wheels, then here's what I'd do. First confirm they'd physically fit the truck. Now have a competent speed shop machine your hubs and axels, machine them to a Chevy bolt pattern. The most logical means would be to knock out the existing lugs and drill new ones between your existing lug bolts to match the Chevy pattern.
I hate adapters, they move the wheels out too far and put extra pressure on the studs.
