I have two of these due to running dual fuel pumps. I wipe them clean and inspect for cracks at every oil change.

I had the same thing go in my 04. It is very common where they use salt on the roads in the winter. I had a hole rusted in mine when it went. The part cost me about $130 also. Had to come from the dealer.

With all the salt the DPW puts on the roads in my part of WI, I need to check it.
If the module isn't cracked, I wonder if Ford sells just the stand offs?

Ed - I'm not sure, you might be able to find more information online tho. I would think there would still be power, but I'm not sure. This is really simple to check tho, just drop your spare tire.

Ford Fan - For me, no.

08F150SXT - Yeah, I live on the east side of Lake Winnebago, and it seems like the DPW lays an extreme amount of salt in the beginning of the season, but as the season gets worse, and the need for salt increases, they lay less due to budgeting... tards.

if not you can do what im going to do , which is to put some nylon washers/spacers underneat. they are less than a $1 in home depot...

I would build a little shield to place on the bottom on it ...leave the top open...this will help protect it from the elements.

Stand offs/washers are the cheapest option, but shielding it makes sense too.
What about coating it with some type of sealer, only when the module is
dry.
