Are there codes thrown as maintenance reminders?
Hello to all...this is my first post! My baby is a 2007 F150 w/4.6L V8. Last night on the drive home from work the CHECK ENGINE light came on. When I got home I researched on the internet and came across the odometer based "dealer test" menu. I stepped my way through and when I got to the DTC page it very clearly said. DTC. None
I dont know what it is called but i seem to remember that the computer turns the light on every 50k - 60k miles as some kind of big maintenance reminder. With this case, where the light came on but there is no code, can that be what this is? The mileage is about 121700 or so.... if you allow for slop that is twice. 60000 miles. What do you think? |

I haven't heard that before but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, Can you take it to like autozone and have them read/clear the code? |
I would go buy a code reader for $40 or a hand held tuner for a lot more (for your future mods, right?) and pull the DTC.
