Lightbulb Blocked rad

Mitch i tend to agree with you. I think they plan on temp testing/replacing the rad on monday to see if that makes any differenece.... Im not sure how they test it but they did say the rad was tested ok. Maybe they pressure tested only?

Buzz 2 seperate shops and my best friend is a mechanic as well (heavy duty/equipment and trucks) say the rad is holding pressure. I assume this means the cap is ok. But if the airflow through the rad is blocked somehow maybe this is the issue. Cottonwood trees up here apparently blow alot of crap and can cause blocked rads .... Is there a way I can test to see if this is a possibility....can you clean out a rad that is blocked? Hose pressure washer?

Im sure the shop will figure this out.... Ill keep you posted.... Im gonna be pissed if its a "clogged" rad.

well the cooling system is only so complex, did they ever hit all the hose with a infrared heat gun and see if they can find where the hot spots are? follow the length of every hose? in and out radiator temps? in and out tranny cooler temps? they have to be overlooking something IMO

if it was my truck, i would replace every line from the trans and then when i found out what it was, i would go to the ford dealer and raise one hell of a storm!

Default Ford will be contacted

ATOM i will be contacting FORD Canada as soon as we know exactly what the problem is and ask if they want my mechanic to fix it propperly or is thier mechanic going to try for the 4th time to "fix it".

I have no faith in service departments where they "contract out" mechanics. If a problem can be drawn out it means more money for them(the mechanics and shop). In this economy where quality and service are so important why is this kind of thing tolerated by Ford.

I would surely raise some hell....i mean you have an issue, work on it, troubleshoot til it's fix, not the old line "it's fine" or "that's normal" or "it's supposed to do that" sometimes buying a new car has more disadvantages than advantages anymore, just like having a warranty is getting to be a damn joke in itself....

I never thought about the air path being blocked, usually the water path gets blocked by using hard tap water. If all they did was a pressure check than it would not tell if the radiator cores were blocked. They could have pulled it out and did a flow test, this would tell if the radiator was blocked internally. As far as cleaning I don't know how to clean the air path, cleaning the internals require them to remove the tanks and then rod out the cores.
