I have a 2008 F-150. Its starting to get a little cold around here (about 25F) and now the truck is taking more than 15 minutes to heat up. Just replaced the thermostat and that did not fix it. Any other ideas?

I got the same thing around here. Ac worked super fast on the summer, but since I started using heat it takes roughly 10-15mins to get on the warm side

seems both of my 04 f150s take forever for the heat to heat up

large engine, great amount of metal... It will heat up as quick as the laws of physics will allow it to and once the engine is operating at a temperature that matches what you have set on your heater...heat will blow out.

I let mine idle for a min or two before I drive it and it still takes a few miles before the heater starts to kick in.

Mine doesn't get up to normal operating temp (middle of the gauge). When it does warm up close to the middle, a little driving drives it back down. I'm going to try reinstalling my thermostat this weekend to see if that helps.

When you are running the blower with the heat on before the engine heats up it is running the coolant through the heater core (which is a miniature radiator) so you may be able to speed up the heating process by leaving the blower off till your gauge shows the engine is warmed up.

I let the truck warm up for 10 min and let the temp come up to normal and then drive about 12 miles before heat actually comes out.Any ideas?

The blower/fan motor has nothing to do with the flow of coolant through the core. It would be the temperature controller.

When I lived in ohio and it was very cold days we would block airflow to radiator in front with a piece of cardboard to get it to warm up faster. Somes times we were fighting near zero temps . The semis had a snap cover to vary how much air flow they let thru .
