New to me truck and the tailgate won't lock. Seems something is loose back there. Any thoughts based on this photo? The triangular plastic bit is pretty loose.

I can’t tell from the still photo if yours is broke or disconnected, but this vid should give you an idea of how it’s supposed to work. Hopefully you just need to clean/lube the mechanism.

if you meant it won’t latch/stay shut (opposed yo the key/lock), then ut is likely just in need of adjustment of the rods (done by popping open green plastic tabs).
