Update:

Inspected the FPDM - it was like new, so I did not bother replacing it. Also, from what I read, when the FPDM fails, the whole thing shuts down. That was not my case.

Pulled off the bed and removed the fuel pump. As expected, had a clogged filter. Since the filter is a non-replaceable part of the fuel pump assembly, I put in a new pump assembly.

Accelerates fine now, all AOK.

you don't happen to have any pictures of where the fuel pump is and how you did the job do you?

The fuel pump is in the top of the gas tank.

No pictures. Haynes manual $23 shows how to remove the fuel pump by dropping the gas tank.

Because my tank was full, I chose to pull off the truck bed. Not quite as simple as people say, but not difficult either.

undo trailer wiring
pull off bumper
undo taillight wiring
unbolt gas tank filler neck and hose clamp to body
undo to evap lines that connect to body underneath
undo the 6 trailer bed bolts
2 guys slide back truck bed about 3 feet sit end on a saw horse and sides on top of the tires.

The only issue was disconnecting the fuel lines. One of the clips busted and I had to do a lot of driving around on a Sunday to find a replacement clip.

I had this, it was the plugs and a clogged converter. Not a fun fix, but all is well now.

I doubt you had the same codes I had with plugs and a clogged converter.

I did not, but my codes were never the same at any time I read them. Just tossing it out there because it was the exact same symptoms.
