Default f150 starts after a couple of tries

Hello guys, I am having a problem with my truck starting in the morning, what happens is that I won't even hear the starter it will just click and engine won't start but after a couple of tries with the ignition and pushing the brakes, it finally starts, so I don't know what would possibly be the problem, it is a 2004 model
Thank you very much

My 06' acts funny in the morning when it's cold outside.. When I turn the key it will act like its going to start but wont, then I wait about 5-10 seconds and it starts on the 2nd turn. Sorry I don't have any info for you now, but if I figure something out soon I will try to let you know if our situations are similar..

So the motor doesn't turn over at all the first few tries? Check the wires going from the battery to the starter. Have some one hold a test light on the starter post to make sure it has power when it doesn't start. Most likely need a new starter though.

It could also be your fuel pump. Does it run sluggish at all?

So you turn the key forward and the starter engages or not?
Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key forward?
What viscosity is your oil?
Is your battery good? Have you had it tested?
Can you have someone test the voltage at the battery when you crank it?
