Super Cab Door won't open

Super Cab Door won't open
I have a 2004 XLT with a 4.6, RWD and Supercab setup.
I opened the driver door this morning and tried to open the rear door on the driver side, but it would not budge. It seems that the top is unlatching, but the bottom remains locked.
Has anyone encountered this before?
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Tom

Look on you tube for fixing rear door on f150. They came from factory with a plastic cone clip. That clip dries out and breaks, so the whole cable moves and does not activate the lock. Like on bicycle brakes cable. They sell aluminum ones anywhere from $5 to 25 bucks.
By the way if one broke, the others are on there way soon!

I am guessing based on the number of s-cab trucks that Ford has sold, I am guessing over 100,000 people have experienced this before. Well-known problem on these doors, also includes the Rangers with the same type of doors. As you have discovered, they are a b%^ch to open once of these fragile parts break. And don't get me started on the "door ajar" light in the dash; also a common problem with the rear s-cab door.
In addition to what daanbc05 recommends, I suggest once you get in there, lube everything and preemptively replace (or clean) the door ajar switches.
