Called the dealer this morning told them my truck has some valve train noise to see if they would diagnose on a Saturday. First words out the service reps mouth were "is it a 5.4"? You know it's bad when they can guess what your driving just by the symptoms. I will be looking at GMC next time around even if its a bit in the ugly side.

The only thing the previous 5.4 doesn't have over the newer one is power. However the old 5.4 is on hell of an engine and the newer one is one hell of a piece of crap when it comes to reliability.

I also love my Great Grey Gangster? Haha but really I love my truck want to keep him forever maybe even one day really step up the mods and go show truck with it

My 04 5.4 has 293,000 miles on it and it has been VERY reliable. I haven't had any motor problems/fixes. Just plugs twice. None broke ever. I've had a wonderful experience.

i love my truck to! all vehicles r gonna have a problem sooner or later, sometimes that not the case, my old f150 was a 98 and i got 275000 miles outta it, the only thing that messed up was the heater core, other than that all original, i sold it and got the 07 im driving now, and idc abt gas either i like a truck cause they r built alot tougher than a car and to me i think a truck is safer than a car. FORD ALL DAY EVERYDAY ! !
