Default Stock radio question

Ok, I have the stock radio and it has an AUX button. Why? There is no input jack for anything...so am I missing something, or is there some sort of engineering genius going on?

Thanks,

Andrew.

you have an AUX button because it is a stock radio. Some trucks come stock with an AUX jack which would use the button. ford uses the same radio because its just cheaper for them to use the same wether you have the AUX jack or not

Some of the trucks came with a usb and/or 1/4" jack above the stereo on the dashboard.

I have none of the above. I did look. was told in the tray in the dash, not there either. I am kind of stumped.

I have the same thing on my 04 supercrew. I have no auxiliary jack anywhere and I would like one so I can hook my mp3 player to my radio. Has anyone took the radio out and looked to see if there's one in the rear?

Mine is an 04'. Right now the only thing in my tray is lint. I did find out the other day that it will not play a burned disc.

My 04 SuperCab Lariat has the same radio and no input jack on the radio anywhere. I took it out to install the FM relay for Sirius sat radio.

It would have been nice to have an AUX plug in there somewhere.

my 07 scab has the aux button and the jack but my aux button also switches between my sat radio and reagular radio so if u have sat radio then thats what its for otherwise you just have a generic radio installed in your truck

Would it not stand to reason then that there is an AUX jack somewhere on the radio...perhaps the back? If there is one in the back then it would be easy to "extend" the jack to the location of choice.

Like jhfast asked has anyone ever taken the stock radio out to see if there is one in the back of the radio?
