Stereo swap

I have a 06 XLT currently with a single CD / cassette non-audiophile stereo. I can get hold of a 6 CD/ MP3 non-audiophile stereo from a 2005, which has the following numbers on the back: 027 4607 and 5L3T 18C815 FJ. I was wondering if this would be a simple change out or would I need a new bracket or anything else. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, all 2004 to 2008 Ford F150 truck radios are interchangable. Some will have 1,2, and 3 wire plugs in the back. One plug that all these radios have is for the power, ground, and front/rear speakers (not the Audiophile "factory sub" though). The middle plug is for the overhead console option, equipped with DVD monitor). The third plug on those radios equipped is for the Audiophile (factory subwoofer).
If you buy a radio with the additional 2 or 3 plugs and don't have the options for them, don't worry, the radio will still work just fine. I have a 2005 STX with no options, and I bought the 6CD, MP3, AM/FM radio and installed it.

As the above poster mentioned, it's plug and play. Plug in the main wiring harness, antenna, bolt it in with the same 4 10mm bolts, and your good to go.

Bought and swapped out the radio yesterday, 10 minute job and it was plug and play. Thanks for the advice.
