Steering Wheel Removal
Does anyone know how to remove the steering wheel? Mine is in pretty bad shape and I got a replacement. It is off a lariat with the steering wheel controls. Thanks

Removal and Installation
CAUTION: Removing the steering wheel without using a puller can damage the column bearings.
1. Place the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the driver air bag module.
3. NOTE: Do not remove the bolt until the steering wheel has been separated from the column. Loosen the steering wheel bolt.
4. Using the special tool, separate the steering wheel from the steering column assembly.
5. Remove the steering wheel bolt and the steering wheel.
o To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) .
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Added Note:
Remember to unplug the battery then let the truck sit for AT LEAST 30 min to let the residual power drain out of the Air Bag System, this way it won't go off in your face as you are pulling it. Be careful setting it to the side as I have heard some of these engaging from getting placed down too hard. Good Luck!

I should have included the air bag procedure the first time. You don't have to be scared of the thing, but it's a good idea to follow the safety instructions:
Removal and Installation
WARNING:
* Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) vehicle and when handling an air bag module. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.
* Carry a live air bag module with the air bag and trim cover pointed away from your body. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.
* Do not set a live air bag module down with the trim cover face down. This will reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accidental deployment.
* After deployment, the air bag surface can contain deposits of sodium hydroxide, a product of the gas generant combustion that is irritating to the skin. Wash your hands with soap and water afterwards.
* Never probe the connectors on the air bag module. Doing so can result in air bag deployment, which can result in personal injury.
* Air bag modules with discolored or damaged trim covers must be replaced, not repainted.
* To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.
NOTE:
* The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.
* The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
* Repair is made by installing a new part only. If the new part does not correct the condition, install the original part and perform the diagnostic procedure again.
1. Depower the system.
2. Remove the 2 steering wheel back cover plugs.
3. Remove the 2 driver air bag module bolts
o To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) .
4. Partially remove the driver air bag module from the steering wheel.
5. CAUTION: The clockspring electrical connectors are unique and cannot be reversed when connected to the driver air bag module. Match the electrical connector key to the keyway in the driver air bag module. Do not force the electrical connectors into the driver air bag module during installation. Disconnect the driver air bag module electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the horn switch electrical connector and remove the driver air bag module.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
8. Repower the system.

Yea whats wrong w/ you Gator! Given out half the info. Someone should stop this mad man from given out other partial but very helpful advice (this is friday internet sarcasm for those that cant tell)
