Specific Leveling Kit ?
I am a newbie to this site, but I am a Ford man. As my ID says, I have four green fords. '90 5.O, '97 Ranger, '02 Explorer, and a "new to me" '07 F150. Look forward to your guys info, Anyways:
I've searched about AS Leveling kits, my front is 2.25" lower than my rear. Do I: Get a 1.5" AS Leveling Kit and call it a day OR Get a 2" AS Leveling Kit and 1.5" AAL? I'm fearful of the front being higher than the rear with just a 2" AS, I want 1/2" rake. Truck is 90% highway, It's never towed anything. Trying minimize ball joint issues (long term). Thanks in Advance :) |
Any thoughts on this situation? Looking for opinions, suggestions, anything to help me decide. Thanks

with the 2 inch AS you should be fine, if you dont tow why are you worried about rake? and doing anything to the rear wont affect your balljoints up front. maybe slightly by shifting the weight more towards the front, but the spacer will still put them at an angle. i have the 2.5 and its been fine, so with the 2in kit youll be good

Thanks, I just like the look of a 1/2" rake. I read some mixed info on ball Joint issues caused by control arm angles and such.

Here's mine with just AS 2.5" Front

Thanks for the pics, truck looks great! 2.5" is perfectly level, AAL gives her just a lil rake. Just what I thought. Think I'm gonna go with 2" AS Leveling Kit.

Keep in mind the measurements are not excact. I put in the AS 1.5 inch and it raised the front 1 3/4. I'm now a 1/4 high in the front, but no big deal.

Nash... that's exactly what I am worried about, 2.25" difference between front and rear. I've heard mixed reviews on the size being actually what it is. Called AS, guy said no guarantees, depends on your shocks. I'm Thinking 2", if it's a touch high up front, I'll add an AAL in rear.
Now, just gotta place the order. Ebay here I come! |
