Default Spark Plugs Changed!

After debating on going to the dealership or just doing the plugs myself, I am happy to announce that i was able to tackle the spark plug challenge this weekend and pass with 100% success. Not one spark plug broke on me!!! I have a buddy that works for Ford Service, and he told me that with this job they have had a lot of success pulling the plugs out with the motor warm. So I figured I would try that route. I ran the truck for about 30 minutes or so, to allow the time to tear apart and once able to do plugs it was still warm. I backed each up about 1/4 turn and sprayed some pb blaster and let sit for about 1 hour. Sure enough all broke loose and had no "tough ones". for having stock plugs and 105K miles i was sure i would break a least half. I have been running sea foam through fuel for the last 3 months every other fill up, and ran once through brake booster about a week ago. I believe this made a huge impact! I will post pictures here this afternoon of what the plugs looked like. This weekend will be VCT solenoids, fuel filer and FPDM.

Awesome. I'm also way overdue for a plug change. Mines got 128k with factory plugs. I've been using sea foam every other tank too and in the brake booster. Hopefully mine goes has good as yours.

Congrats 04-fx4 i to was extremely nervous but it wasnt as bad as i thought the 2 back broke on me! I dine the warm motor also with aero-kroil as the soaker. It was easy, i thought about doing them in my spare time.. it was a pain but still better than paying 600+ for the stealership to do it

I can't seem to find anyone in my area who has done it lol. I considered posting an ad on Craigslist for someone who has done them before. Ugh

Changing the plugs on these trucks is definitely a right of passage.. You can't say you've truly owned a 150 unless you've felt with this lol. All joking aside.. Congrats man you definitely had more success than I did!

It's not as bad as everyone thinks. If you have air tools and the Lisle spark plug removal tool then you'll be fine.
