Just Got my check for $33.12. Service bill was $774.
The original letter states:
"Ford will reimburse you for Spark Plug Replacement costs... 50% for costs at least $500 but less than $1,000."
They don't state that they "might" reimburse. They state they WILL reimburse.
Am I reading this incorrectly?
So I should get a check for $387 right?
Anyone else disputing the payment?

Default Show your math

It would help everyone if you state your cost minus the $400 exclusion and the 50 % figure you expect to get after the 20% commision ? And the $1000 cap
It might help to iron this out .
Every Time I've been involved it has come to nothing on class action suits . Hope for the best . It' s like a divorce its never pretty .
Luckily I fought my own out with the lisle tool and I always torque wrench them in . I switched to champion and used nickle antiseize ,now I may go to sp515 and just clean carbon out of cyl tip area with no anti seize .
At 172k now after timing job/rollers/lash adjusters runs great on third set of champions .
Don't force those new plugs in past that heavy carbon build up .Don't go past 50k on plugs .

774 -400 threshold = 374 times 50 %=187 - 20% commision =187-37.4= 149.6 your check .
But where does the 20 percent get figured, knowing lawyers they use 774 times.20 =154.8
187 is your 50% figure - lawyers 154.8 = 32.20 bucks to you .
This is not the intent I'm sure, but the Judge is a lawyer too .
Ask for the calculations . They may admit their mistake or not .

I paid over $1200 for my plugs, and I went to an independent mechanic shop 02/10/16 for it. I got a letter today that says:

...The documentation you submitted indicated that the repairs for which you sought reimbursement were performed after the Notice Date but were not performed at an authorized Ford dealership. To be eligible, such repairs must have been performed at a Ford Dealership ...
I have searched high and low on the class action website, and I don't see anywhere (even in the case documents) where it says that I had to have it done at a stealership. Has anyone gotten the same letter?

Can anyone point me to where it says this in some case documentation?? They basically told me to go pound sand because I won't bend over for the dealer.

I just got my check in the mail this week for $9.40. Yes, you do have to go to a Ford Dealer to get any money back. I paid $445.86 to get mine changed-no issues with plug removal.

Can you tell me where you see that? My truck has 100k on it now, and on http://www.fordsparkplugsettlement.com, it says

Class Members are entitled to partial reimbursement for the documented and unreimbursed amounts paid to a Ford authorized dealer, third-party repair facility or parts supplier for the parts and labor required to obtain a Spark Plug Replacement. These amounts are defined as “Out-of-Pocket Expenses.” For purposes of this Settlement, “Spark Plug Replacement” means:
(1) Replacement or attempted replacement of one or more spark plugs that occurred when the Vehicle had been driven no more than 120,000 miles

OK-Since I'm the original owner I got notice about the potential settlement in 2014. I went to the website and enrolled. About Jan 2015, I received a claim notice with a form to send in. Here's what I received that said it had to be done at a Ford dealership in the papers I received. I had my plugs changed in early June, send in the form and just got my payment this month

Feel free to let them know how you feel- if we don't receive a check by the Feb 2017 final deadline I'm going to start calling also.
I was sent this info:

To: Jeff Goldenberg; jshah@sfmslaw.com
Subject: Fw: Settlement

Assuming that you are still the lawyers representing the client, I'd like some information other than a dead end web site.

Thanks, Stacie

Good afternoon,

We were recently told that they just started sending checks out but they are sending them out on a rolling basis. I can’t say when you may receive your check as there were over 80,000 claims submitted. You can email the settlement administrator at info@fordsparkplugsettlement.com for updates.

Thank you.

Good afternoon Stacie,

Jeff Goldenberg asked me to respond to your inquiry regarding your claim in the Ford spark plug litigation. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

The claims administrator has provided us with a Master Claim List and Stacie is on the list. Assuming this is you, this means your claim has been received and is in the loop for review and processing. Regrettably, we do not know when you will hear from the claims administrator: the process is taking longer than anticipated due to receipt of more than 80,000 claims to date.

Again, your continued patience is appreciated.

Again I am asking for your assistance in getting more information on this suit. Nothing has been paid to date and since you are the attorney for the plaintiff I'm sure you've already been paid, either get me some information or I will file my own suit against your law firm.

Stacie,

We are going to ask Ford to work with the settlement administrator expedite your claim. Below is the contact information we have for your claim. Is it current?

I WAS THEN SENT A LETTER STATING I NEEDED TO PROVIDE A COPY OF MY RECEIPT AND HOW PAYMENT WAS MADE.

Sent 3/12/17 to Stephanie:

Hello, I am writing in regard to my settlement payment. I was asked to submit a copy of my paid bill. The receipt of payment was submitted and they did in fact receive the correct Information as documented by the United States Post Office within the allocated time. I am asking yet again to have the money sent to me that I am entitled to.

As the attorney representing the Plaintiffs, I will assume you have our best interest in mind and will be acting in good faith to get this matter resolved.

I received my check on 3/21/17 for $22.83 after I spent $1,200.00 on my spark plug repair. I am sending in an appeal this amount is an insult.
