Default Walmart brand synthetic motor oil?

Anyone with experience in running this oil? Meets same standards as mobile one and all the other synthetics. However, this full synthetic oil retails for a bit less then motor craft blended oil.

Last I knew walmart used recycled oil, I wouldn't trust it.

Last I heard Wal-Mart does not have there own refinery, unless the bottle says recycled, it's not, it will meet or exceed manufactors specifications. They buy from a major refinery but can afford to charge less because none of the money from their oil goes into sponsoring a race car so they pass the savings on to you.

I buy generic household materials all the time to save money, but when it comes to the health of my truck I buy the name brand. Despite the fact that it says on the bottle they meet the same standards as Mobil 1..... It's still Walmart brand

I'd use it and have used it, no issues. There was an article on it on bob is the oil guy about it, nothing negative. Depending on region will determine who makes it and what the blend is. It could realistically be name brand oil in an off brand jug.

It's either made by WPP (Warren), SOPUS, or XOM. It depends on the region and the type of bottle. It's a fairly decent oil and will do fine for 5k drains. You can probably fine the VOA and several UOA's of it over on Bob's site. They tend to use sodium types of add packs, or low ZDDP for the syn. Of course if you're doing 5k drains a cheaper conventional will probably also work. You can use it without worry.
I feel sorry for the uneducated responses on here.

Thanks for advice. I figured Walmart private labels someone else's product and just offered it for less. Not having all the advertising built in.

Also, reason would tell me that a cheap synthetic is probably better than a brand name conventional. And it cost the same or less.

This is where the gray area of "synthetic" kicks in. A synthetic is primarily a Group III conventional that is more refined. For shorter (5000 mi or under), it's probably a wash between the Supertech and any name brand conventional. Even some conventionals if they aren't able to find Group I and II to use, they'll throw Group III in there to help.It really depends what kind of specs you like, whether you want moly, boron, higher calcium, higher ZDDP, etc. And then couple that with HTHS and other specs. So being able to say the "synthetic" is truly superior to a conventional for shorter drains isn't a bet anyone can make. If it's all about price point, there are several rebates on quality products that you can get for reduced prices or even free.

For 3K intervals the Mobil was definitely a waste, but you're probably leaving a lot of TBN in the supertech also. Penz yellow bottle, Valvoline white bottle, Quaker state, Castrol, etc would all probably be cheaper for the short drains and do just as good of job of keeping your motor squeaky clean.
